About The Beautiful Feet

film story
The story of making Beautiful Feet is a movie in itself.
The vision first came to writer/ director Chim Onyebilanma 30 years ago, in 1996, while serving as a missionary among the Gbagyi people in Northern Nigeria. After writing just a third of the script, the project sat untouched until the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown.
Upon pulling out the old manuscript, Chim realized the original notes for the ending were lost.

However, through prayer, the remainder of the story came so clearly and quickly that it was immediately completed.

Production brought its own extreme challenges.

To authentically capture the landscape of the core North while navigating regional insecurity,

the director decided to shoot in Northern Togo. During a high-stakes scene involving a burning hut built by the set design team, local military mistook the production for a security threat.

The cast and crew were arrested and detained for three grueling days.

In the midst of this intense trial, the team experienced profound spiritual growth,

a deep revelation of the importance of this message,

and a supernatural unity that allowed them to finish the remaining filming in
record time.

Beautiful Feet

is a testimony of hard work,

resilience, and a team willing to go anywhere to ensure this story is told
